GRANBURY — Ed Jarrett, Jr., 93, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, in Granbury. He played golf only 4 weeks prior. Everyone who knew him knew how full of love and life he was. He lived his life always believing the glass was half full.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Holly Hills Mausoleum Chapel. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Jarrett was born Oct. 3, 1920, in St. Louis, Mo., to Edward Lee Jarrett, Sr. and Effie Godwin Jarrett. Ed grew up in Dallas and attended Texas A&M University. Ed was a real estate broker in Granbury and was a member of Acton United Methodist Church. Ed served in the U.S. Army Air Corps with great pride with a rank of Sargent and was honorably discharged Dec. 20, 1945. Ed was preceded in death by two wives, Betty Piercy Jarrett in 1995, the mother of his four children, and Eleanor Boyd Jarrett in 2008; daughter, Linda Hagman in 2009; granddaughter, Tina Hagman in 2006; and great granddaughter, Lucy Jarrett in March 2012.
Survivors: Sons, Dr. Jeff Jarrett and wife Molly, Ed Jarrett, III and wife, Susan, of Dallas; daughter, Marilyn Agee and husband, Mickey, of New Braunfels; son-in-law, Gary Hagman of Weatherford; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
