Eddie Carroll 74, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loved ones due to complications of cancer.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or to Bridgeway Hospice.
Eddie was born July 27, 1938, in Plainview to Ruby and Norman Carroll. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War and then returned to Amarillo to continue his career with the Santa Fe Railroad. In 1985 he retired due to a disability. Eddie and his wife Serena moved to Fort Worth from Topeka, Kansas, in 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Serena Carroll; children, Shellye Carroll, D.D. Carroll, Tiffany Carroll, and Ryan Carroll and wife, Janie; grandchildren, Austin Long, Cameron Long, Tori Carroll, Dylan Hageman, Alex Pasley, Rylan Carroll and Ethan Carroll; and sister, Norman Carroll and husband, Walter.
