GRANBURY — Eddie Lee Tinney, 72, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at his home in Granbury, Texas.
Service: A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at the Triple Cross Cowboy Church, 3470 North Lipan Drive, Granbury, Texas 76048, with Pastor Ray Lane and Reverend Jerry Thorpe officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, in Brady, Texas at the Resthaven Cemetery.
Eddie was born July 31, 1943, in Brady, Texas, to Joe and Willie Mae Tinney. He graduated from Brady High School in 1961 and then attended Southwest Texas College briefly until he enlisted in the Army National Guard and then the Air Force Reserve. Eddie had three daughters, Karin Renee, Colena Dawn and Deanna Lee and in 1974 moved to Odessa, Texas to begin a 22 year career with Halliburton. Eddie married Judy Langston in 1978 in Odessa and then moved to Jakarta, Indonesia in 1980. Eddie’s career allowed him to travel to places such as China, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America; Eddie retired from Halliburton in 1999 and embarked on a new adventure with Judy as an insurance adjustor handling major disasters throughout the U.S. Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 and he joined FEMA in Mississippi. There he worked diligently for 6 years. After coming back to Granbury, he continued his service to others during disasters on a contract basis until his battle with cancer started on Dec. 31, 2014. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Willie Mae Tinney, brothers, Raymond Tinney and Bill Middleton, father-in-law, Fred Langston.
Survivors: Wife of 38 years, Judy Tinney; daughters, Karin Branton, Colena Salazar, Deanna Morgan; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
