Eloyce Lauren Pruett Haigood

GRANBURY — Eloyce Haigood went home to be with her Father on April 19, 2016. She was able to celebrate her 82nd birthday this past Monday.
Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo, Texas.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Eloyce was born on April 18, 1934 in Sandia, Texas to Jacob and Nellie Pruett. She built her family with admiration, kindness and love and was known and appreciated for her sweet disposition in all circumstances.
Eloyce earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Corpus Christi and became a school teacher. She taught first grade in Flour Bluff, Corpus Christi, Rockport and Midland, Texas. She retired after 29 years of service to Texas school children.
Eloyce married Elvin Haigood on June 8, 1963 in Mathis, Texas. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Ruidoso and most recently of the Granbury Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband, Elvin Haigood of Granbury, her son, James Haigood and Valerie of Little Elm, her two daughters, Debbie Martin and Joel of Granbury and Cindy Carey and Greg of Ruidoso, New Mexico. She loved and cherished her grandchildren: Amanda Kilgore, Jessica Kindberg, Garrett Martin, Carrie Remund, Ryan Kimbrell, Zach Carey, Meagan Carey, Meredith Carey, Ashleigh Haigood and Baylee Haigood. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, her sister, Ruth Hale of Sandia, Texas, and 2 nieces.
