GRANBURY — Elvin “El” Francis Coufal, 88, passed away peacefully Apr. 6, 2016, in Granbury.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, Apr. 11, 2016, at Wiley Funeral Home officiated by Herbert Brookshire, brother of Triena.
Elvin was born Dec. 1, 1927, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., to Frank and Bessie Herout Coufal. El grew up in Nebraska on a farm and graduated from Howells High School in Howells, Neb. in 1945 and attended college before starting as a sales representative for CIT financial. He moved to Las Vegas in 1972 and worked for various companies before starting as an appraiser for Clark County, Nev. He became chief appraiser before retiring in 1993. He married Triena in 1994 and lived in Las Vegas until 1999 before moving to Granbury. He attended Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury. He enjoyed being outside and loved working with his hands.
Survivors: Wife of 22 years, Triena Coufal; sister, Mildred Poladna; brother, Gene Coufal and wife, Hazel; son, Frank Coufal and wife, Delsie; step-sons, Chauncy Dunn and wife, Carol, Joe Deavenport and wife, Leah; step-daughter, Christine Dotson; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
