Ely Sage Franco

Ely Sage Franco, 92, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Granbury, Texas. Private family services will be held at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project. Tribute gifts can be made on the behalf of Ely Sage Franco to the National Parkinson Foundation.

Sargent Ely Sage Franco served his country, for nine years, with honor and distinction during WWII from 1941-47 and Korea 1951. He enlisted at the tender age of 17. His service included the following theaters of War.

-Paratrooper 101st Air Bourne-Known as the “Screaming Eagles”.
-Normandy Invasion- June 6, 1944

-Guard-Krakow Death Camp-SS Troops

-Korea-1951

Ely was preceded in death by the love of his life of 54 years, Mable Franco, brothers: Manuel Franco, Tony Franco, and Steve Franco, and sister: Mary Garcia.

Survivors: sons: Charles Franco and Wesley Harris, daughters: Katheryn McLellan, and Brenda Breding, brothers: Benny Franco, and Nick Franco, sisters: Catherine Anderson, Ester Doyle, Ruth Longoria, Naomi Autin, and Lydia Franco.
