Ernest Earl Springfield

In Memory of Ernest Earl Springfield 1/23/67 – 12/29/2020

Ernie passed away suddenly on December 29, 2020 at Lake Granbury Medical Center in Granbury, Texas at the age of 53. Ernie was born in Greenwood, MS and is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl Springfield of West Point, MS and Mary Neil Springfield of Star City, Ark. Brothers, Bobby Springfield of Greenwood, MS. Michael Edward Springfield of Arkansas, and sister Margaret English of Arkansas.

He is survived by his sister n laws, Mary Frances Springfield of Greenwood, MS and Judy Springfield of Arkansas. His sisters Mary Lou Highfill of Arkansas and Vicky Lee McNeer of Grenada, MS. His stepdaughters Casey Jo Hicks and Jessica Davis of Greenwood, MS. His daughter Anna Jade Springfield of Florida, and granddaughter Mechaela Turner of Florida. Also survived by his ever-adored love Christie Williams, his soul mate and his best friend and her children Tristan Helton and Zane Helton all of Dallas, Texas.

He has many nephews, great nephews, nieces, great nieces, cousins and many lifelong friends whom loved him as well as Christie’s family. He treasured all of his family and friends. He called his brothers and sisters every day to check on them. His childhood friends Keith Mims and Brian Wexler had a special place in his heart going back to childhood. He had so many that he called brother and sisters and you know who you are. If you were fortunate enough to be close to Ernie, your world was a little brighter because of him.

Ernie had a passion for music. He played in bands since an early age and continued into his 40’s in Greenwood and surrounded areas. His love for music was his joy and his purpose. He was of the Methodist faith and loved his lord and savior prayed daily. God brought Christie and Ernie together after knowing each other since 1988. They were truly soul mates. He spent the last 3 years with Christie and they enjoyed each other every day. He loved Texas, so many great things he had got to do, trips taken to Colorado and the Texas beaches, to see real cattle drive in Fort Worth and to meet one of his favorite guitar builders while attending a concert. He taught me more about love in 3 years than a lifetime. So many memories and blessings. His sense of humor, his goofiness, his karaoke time in the evening with his guitar, his laughter, his love is greatly missed and will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
