GRANBURY — Ernestine Marlin, 85, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016, in her home.
Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Lakeside Baptist Church.
Burial: Acton Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Ernestine Marlin was born Wednesday, April 23, 1930, in the home at Zion, Izard County, Arkansas, to Ernest E. and Cassie Marlin. She graduated from Melbourne High School in 1947, as salutatorian of her class. She started her banking career at The Bank of Melbourne, Izard County, Arkansas on May 15, 1947. Ernestine retired from The Bank of North Arkansas, Melbourne, Arkansas, May 15, 1995 having worked at that bank (which was formerly The Bank of Melbourne) for 48 years. She served as Secretary of the Antioch Cemetery Association of Zion for 22 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ernest and Cassie Marlin, brother, Charles Ray Marlin, sister-in-law, Margaret Marlin and nephew, Robert A. Jarvis IV.
Survivors: Brother, Marcus J. Marlin of Granbury; nieces, Teresa L. Sumrall of Granbury, Texas and husband, James D. Sumrall, Felicia K. Jarvis of Lewisville, Texas; great niece, Kristine L. Stafford and husband, Ryan N. Stafford; great nephew, Jason D. Sumrall and wife, Alexandria E. Sumrall and children Gracie and Wyatt.
