GRANBURY — Ethel Harmon Holmes, 84, passed away Sunday, Mar. 30, 2014, in Granbury.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Tolar Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holmes was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Terrell, Texas, to Eldridge Harmon Teeters and Lela May McCarty Teeters. She married J.W. Holmes, Mar. 20, 1951, in Tolar. She was a member of Granbury First United Methodist Church. Ethel loved to travel and play bridge. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son, Jay Wayne Holmes, brothers, Dallas Teeters, Edwin Noble, sisters, Evelyn “Terri” Brewer and Louise Boyd.
Survivors: Son, Wendall Holmes and wife, Beverly, of Tolar, daughters, Donna Owens and husband, Steve, of Keller, Kristi Kyle and husband, Butch, of Gilmer; sister, Edna Self of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Natalie Rounsaville, Wes Holmes, D’Anna Dempsey, Kaylee Owens, C.J. Kyle, Caitlyn Kyle; seven great grandchildren; best friend, Darla McFarland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
