Evelyn Ellen Bourne
GRANBURY — Evelyn Ellen Bourne, 94, formerly of Box Elder, South Dakota, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, in Granbury.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Behrens Funeral Home in Rapid City, South Dakota. Burial: Wall Cemetery in Wall, South Dakota.
Evelyn was born May 19, 1919, in Creighton, South Dakota, to Albert and Bessie Sherrill. She married Lloyd Bourne on July 20, 1936. They raised their seven children on a ranch in Pedro, South Dakota.
After selling the ranch in 1967, they moved closer to town, settling in Box Elder. Evelyn was a stay-at-home mom. After moving to Box Elder, she baby sat for a few years. In 2000, Evelyn and Lloyd moved to Chester, Texas.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, LaVonne Parks Flowers; son, Arthur Bourne; grandson, Ronnie Parks; granddaughter, Angela Day Booker; and son-in-laws, James Day and Robert Gentry.
Survivors: Sons, Larry Bourne and wife, Sarah, of Chester, Texas; Rocky Bourne and wife, Belinda, of Box Elder, South Dakota; daughters, Marcene West and husband, Grover, of Granbury, Texas, Connie Knappenberger and husband, Ed, of Clay, Michigan, Norma Gentry of Box Elder, South Dakota; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives.
