Evelyn Owens Trotter, 85, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

Service: 3:30 p.m. Friday at Eagle Mountain Baptist Church.

Interment: Azleland Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Evelyn Owens was born April 24, 1930 in Grapevine to Calvin Warren and Jessie Fitch Owens. She married Roy L. Trotter on December 8, 1950 in Smithfield. They lived in the Eagle Mountain Lake area for almost 60 years.

Evelyn and Roy were longtime members of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and bible study, was a passionate organic gardener, an loved chocolate.

Everyone remembers her sly sense of humor; working crosswords in ink; writing poetry, playing scrabble, reading, sewing, her love of sacred music, and always lending a hand when needed. She was a “Health Nut” before it was cool.

Her survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Trotter; son, Roy B. Trotter; sister, Joyce Phillips; brother, Jack B. Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
