Florence Griffin Cope, 86, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 in Granbury. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 3152 Little Road, Suite 146, Trinity, Florida 34655.
Florence was born December 16, 1931 in Camden, Arkansas to Lawrence Quitman and Gertrude Smith Griffin. She married William Cope on April 11, 1953 in Monahans, Texas. She was a member of Pecan Plantation Women’s Club, the Red Hats Club, Needle Point Group and Newcomers Association. She was very involved in Monahans’ exes Class of ’49. Florence loved playing tennis, Bunco and line dancing. She worked and led many Weight Watchers meetings. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Lamar Griffin, Wayne Griffin and Carl Griffin.
Survivors: Husband of 64 years, Bill Cope; daughter, Carla Cope Evitt and husband Wesley; son, Martin Cope; grandchildren, Megan Evitt, Jarrett Cope and wife Amanda and Keevin Cope and wife Zsanae; great-grandchildren, Josh Cope, Jayden Cope, Jackson Cope, Lilyan Cope and Avery Cope, and two nieces and two nephews.
