Garry Z Luker, 89, of Granbury Tx went home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on December 8th, 2022. He fought a short but hard battle against Liver Cancer
He was born to Raymond Clayton Luker and Brownie Lane Luker on October 16th ,1933 in Comanche County. He proudly served in the Air Force and was station overseas in Okinawa and then was honorably discharged. He then went into real estate and moved to Granbury Texas in 1969, where he established Granbury Land Co. and developed several subdivisions within Hood County. With the last one being Luker Ranch.
He loved working, playing cards, forty-two and loved winning, on the occasion that he lost he would quickly tell you that “he tossed you a bone”. He was an amazing Christian, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, businessman and friend. He loved teasing his friends and family, and if he didn’t tease you then he really didn’t love you. He loved his dogs and they loved him even more. He was also a faithful member of Oak Trail Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Brownie Dewbre, Jan Woods, brother Kenneth Luker Sr, great grandsons Levi and Landon Luker and his beloved dog Bella.
He is survived by daughter Kelly Swope of Granbury, son Garry Luker Jr and wife Marty of Fort Worth. Grandson Jeremy Luker of Granbury, Granddaughter Dana Luker of Chickasha OK, great grandchildren, Lacee, Haylee, Kenlee, Ariel, Lyndzi, Charlee, and Brayden. One niece, numerous nephews, cousins and his faithful dog Bree.
Visitation: 3-5 pm Sunday Dec 11th at Wiley’s funeral home.
Funeral 2.00 pm Monday Dec 12th at Lakeside Baptist Church, Granbury Tx
Following the service the burial will be at Holly Hills Memorial Park
