Gary Anderson, 79, of Granbury passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. Graveside service: 1:00 PM, Monday, December 28, 2020, Oak Hill Cemetery, Mannford, Oklahoma, Lie in State: 12 Noon – 7:00 PM, Saturday, December 26, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM, Saturday, December 26, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Gary was born on December 14, 1941 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Mid and Audrey Anderson. He married Sue on June 24, 1961 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was the guardian of the family and he loved them most of all.
Gary started his own business, Anco Golf Cars in Midland, TX that he operated for 32 years.
Gary loved the Lord and he was a member of Triple Cross Cowboy Church. He was the past master of Acacia Lodge 1414, past potentate of Suez Temple, San Angelo, Texas, associate member of Moslah Temple, Fort Worth, Texas, a member of Lake Granbury Shriners Club, and a member of Flying Fez.
Gary’s middle name was “Go”. He always wanted to go everywhere and he loved trying new things. He was full of adventure, forward thinking, and an inventor. He was a bow hunter and he killed the biggest buck in Oklahoma in 1965. He went to Dubai in the 1970s.
Gary loved driving, boats, horses, and scuba diving. He would often say “Are you having fun yet? “. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Marie Anderson, and son: Jeffrey Anderson.
Gary is survived by his wife: Sue Anderson, daughters: Julie Lind, and Janice Burnett and her husband Dave, grandchildren: Katie Baker and her husband Steven, Carson Lind, Kendall Anderson, Megan Raden, and CPL Jared Bromstead, and great-grandchildren: Jake Worner, Levi Worner, and Ayla Worner.
