Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Rock Creek Cemetery in Glen Rose. Gary was the son of Lee Leslie and Pauline Vanhooser Crownover. He married Stacy Scott on March 14, 2001 in Las Vegas. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed drilling consultant and Owner of Crownover Consulting. He had worked in the oilfields since he was 14 years old with his father. He had worked for Parker Drilling, and Unocal.
Gary’s favorite hobbies were cars, guns, and model trains. He had show cars, race cars, and loved drag racing. He was a gun and model train enthusiast and liked to just piddle.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brother Randy Crownover and sister Brenda Patton.
Gary was survived by his wife of 19 years, Stacy Crownover; daughter, Brandy Dillon-Ward and husband DeWayne, and daughter Christy Crownover-Reece; stepdaughter Megan Grubbs and husband Steaven, and stepdaughter Shelby Forrest and husband Travis, sister, Jan Crownover; grandchildren, Olivia Dillon, Parker Reece, Madison Bilbrey, Trenton Bilbrey, Nathan Grubbs, Kennedy Forrest, Klara Forrest, David Ward and Daniel Ward.
