Max Calk, 76, of Granbury, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018. Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 19, 2018, Granbury Church of Christ, Interment: Acton Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, May 18, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Granbury Church of Christ Food Bank or Foster’s Home for Children, Stephenville.
Max was born on February 24, 1942 in Del Rio, Texas to Manuel and Libbie Calk. He married Jeannette Rollins on August 9, 1969 in Duncan Oklahoma. He was a devoted husband, and a strong, loving, and caring father and grandfather.
Max received his master’s degree in education from Sul Ross State University. He began his teaching career in Del Rio, Texas. He taught for nearly 45 years, mostly at Paint Creek School. He was their biggest supporter.
Sports were Max’s middle name, which showed in his love of coaching. He liked westerns and loved anything and everything having to do with the state of Texas. He was an active member of Granbury Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Gina Crocker.
Max is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jeannette Calk, son-in-law: Chris Crocker, grandchildren: Kacy Crocker, and Joshua Crocker and siblings: Wayne Calk and wife Linda and Bernice Jaap.
