Gena was a blessing to our family. She was a beautiful person inside and out. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew her. I will always remember her and the love she shared with the Johnson family.

Sharon Casseday left a message on August 1, 2022:
Aunt Gena was the youngest of Mollie and Fred’s nine children, and our sweet mom, Othel Daisy, was the oldest of the nine. While Uncle Robert was in the Navy, Aunt Gena lived with us awhile in St. Louis when Shirl, Doug and I were growing up, so she’s always felt like our second mom. But then, she has lots of nieces and nephews who feel like she was their second mom. She had a knack of going out of her way to make you feel special and making everyone she knew feel important to her. She loved each family of the Truesdell family and especially loved the reunions. At every reunion, you’d find Aunt Gena in the kitchen working, making iced tea, coffee, and her special banana pudding. And then always pitching in to help, cleaning up or whatever was needed. Words cannot express how much Aunt Gena will be missed. But even in the last weeks of her life, she comforted us and let us know she was ready to join her brothers and sisters and other loved ones in Heaven. God bless you and keep you, Aunt Gena.

Gena was such a special person. She loved her family beyond measure. I will always remember how she drove to Lubbock without GPS and not knowing exactly where she was going to be with our dad in his last days. We will miss her warm smile and great hugs.
