Fort Worth — Gene Flippin, 88, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, in Crowley.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Granbury.
Gene was born Mar. 1, 1927, in Littlefield, Texas, to William Henry Flippin and Clara Lavada Gray Flippin. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Gene worked on the Alaska pipeline, operated all the heavy equipment, fixed cars and was just handy and could fix anything. He was a jack of all trades and master of most. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Croy and grandson, Kenneth Croy. The family would like to extend special thanks to Gina Calvert who took care of Gene.
Survivors: Daughters, Helen Kimbrell and husband, David, Juanita Strain and husband, Vish Mysore, Lois Ann Flippin; grandchildren, Arnold Strain, Lynn Strain, Rick Clark, Trisha Yancy, Gene Croy; 7 great grandchildren; and special friend, Nelda Adams.
