Gerald Weldon Thomas, 67, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at his home.
Celebration of Life: 1 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Saginaw. Dr. Danny Howe will officiate.
Gerald was born May 27, 1951 in Fort Worth to Van Weldon and Pearl Kemp Thomas. He graduated from Boswell High School in the Class of 1970, played drums in a local band called The Ghostriders, and was a lifelong member of Lake View Baptist Church.
Gerald proudly served the Eagle Mountain Lake Community as a member of the Eagle Mountain Volunteer Fire Department for many years. His service included 14 years as Assistant Fire Chief. He retired as a Steam Electric Power Plant Operator in August 2004 from T X U Eagle Mountain SES with 27 years of service.
He had a great love of God, his family, camping, hunting, fishing, and being “Papa”.
Gerald was preceded in death by his daughter, Christiana Justice Thomas; father, Van Weldon Thomas; brother, Richard Gayle Thomas, and brother-in-law, Richard Wickline.
Survivors: his wife, Sherri L. Thomas; daughters, Andrea G. Thomas, Amanda Edwards and husband, Nathan; mother, Pearl Kemp Thomas; sisters, Patricia Wickline, Cindy Straw and Kathy Ford; uncle, Billy Gayle Thomas; aunt, Carlene Kemp; granddaughters, Annie, Taylor, Kaley, Reice, Kenedy Ann and Ava; grandsons, Blake and Dylan; he was Uncle Gerald to many nieces and nephews; and his best friend of 60 years, Geoffrey Wallace, and his wife, Marty.
