Grace Elizabeth Johnson, 77, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018. Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, May 18, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Interment: Fall Creek Cemetery, Acton, Visitation: 1:00 PM until service time, Friday, May 18, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, Lie in state: Wednesday, May 16, 2018, until service time, Friday, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury . Grace was born on May 12, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas to Harold and Ruth Reno. She married Marvin Ray Johnson on February 1, 1957 in Gainesville, Texas. She loved her family. It was an undeniable fact. She was the best mom and took care of everyone, even if they didn’t “belong” to her. When her grandkids came along, it was the best thing in the world to her. She loved having holidays at her house especially with all the kids.
Grace loved when people would come unannounced and loved it even more when they were hungry! She would cook for an army even if it was just her and one other person. She loved gardening and shopping, especially the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas. Any job she had outside the home, she quickly became the “go to” person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ray Johnson and great- granddaughter, Timper Jean Massie.
Grace is survived by her children: Marvin Ray Johnson Jr. and wife Terri Johnson, Terri Elizabeth Massie and husband Ray Massie, Tiffany Dawn Molinar and husband Frank Molinar, and Tamatha Lynn Nitschke, grandchildren: Amanda Dianne Carnes and husband Andy Carnes, Andria LaNell Fee and husband Owen Fee, Daniel Ray Massie and wife Cristina Massie, Zachary Ryan Massie, Tyler Ross Johnson, Mason Reed Molinar, Mollie Grace Molinar, Riley Grace Nitschke, and Hayden Christopher Nitschke, and great-grandchildren: Noah Rivers Phillips, Cameron Brooke Carnes, Makenna Elizabeth Carnes, Preslee Grace Carnes, Nolan Ray Massie, Nixon Race Massie, and Nathan Reigns Massie.
The family would like to thank Tiffaney Gross Ballew and the staff at Lake Lodge Nursing Home, Alpha and Omega Hospice Care, and Comfort Care for all the love and support they gave our mother. They have been such a blessing and gave us peace of mind throughout this time.
