Granbury — Guy W. Lackey, 88, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Waco, Texas.
Memorial service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Granbury Church of Christ. Burial of the cremains will follow the service at Stroud Creek Cemetery.
Memorials: Foster Home for Children.
Guy was born Sept. 1, 1925, in Hood County, to Jesse Guy Lackey and Bernice McIlroy Lackey. He was a member of Granbury Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War Two. Guy taught school in Texas for over 30 years. Preceding him in death were his parents and wife, Jean McDonald Lackey on July 29, 2006.
Survivors: Wife, Mary Sue Rascoe Lackey of Waco; sons, Donald Lackey and wife, Debbie, of Waxahachie, Kip Lackey of Roswell, Ga.; daughter, Lin Lackey of Grand Prairie; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Roy Lackey of College Station; and many friends.

I had the distinct pleasure to meet Guy Lackey through his awesome sons Donald & Kip. He was a fine gentleman. It was always a pleasure to see him with the boys because that meant we all were playing golf. He definitely made a difference by being a teacher and through his children.
