I was so sorry to learn the news of H Wayne Nickellpassing and can't believe it was this long ago. It was nice to have located him through our mutual friend Terry Covey who was my former neighbor at Glen Rose. My maternal family were long time friends of the Nickell Family. In addition, my late mother, Delorees, were members of the Town Band with Wayne's parents and I had hoped for us to get together in person to visit more about that time in GR History. Also, my late Uncle WA "Bill" Draper and his wife, Mildred, were members of the First Baptist Church at GR . And my late brother, Carl, and I were in Robert and Royce Nickell's Classes at GRISD. But since I worked on call we never got a personal visit set up. It was nice to be H Wayne Nickell's friend on Fb, however. He was a true gentleman and friend who loved his Family and University. I shall always cherish our being Fb friends. Continuing to keep All of H Wayne Nickell Family in my thoughts and prayers, Charlie Belle -Charlie Keathley

We have been Friends with SCOTT & MARSHA for "close" to 30 YRs now. We knew & loved THEIR Son, GARRETT - "even before" he was born. OUR Memories go back a Looooong Way. Through OUR Looooong Friendship with them, we came to know & love WAYNE & MARY, equally as well. I have thinking about when WAYNE used to go Snowmobiling with US in Jackson Hole - WHAT FUN WE ALL Enjoyed !! He, being a TEXAS "SUNSHINE Boy", was a Good Sport taking-on this Activity in OUR HEAVY WYOMING "White-out Snows" !! WAYNE had a SMART & INQUISITIVE Engineering Mind - ALWAYs a Fun Fella to chat with !! I am LIKEWISE Remembering HIS Interest in restoring SCOTTs Old 1980 "280-ZX" Vintage Car for GrandSon, GARRETT. ALSO Thinking about MARY - HER being a Talented PIANIST & HER Deep Love of HER Church and MUSIC & SINGING and HER Pride in HER Church Choir. PLUS Thinking about MARYs Great QUILTING & HER SMART Seamstress Skills, too. SHE even made a Cute WESTERN VEST that RICK has enjoyed wearing for approximately 25+ years now. WAYNE & MARY were SO INCREDIBLY Proud of THEIR Family and THEIR "TX A&M" Heritage. This was a GREAT AMERICAN COUPLE with Love & Devotion to Church & Family & Friends & Country. They are missed. "Rest In Peace", dear ones.

Wayne was a true gentleman. He loved his family and was a great inspiration to us all! He was proud of his A & M heritage and even more proud to watch his son and then grandson earn their rings.
