Harold Cooper, 87, passed from his earthly vessel to his eternal home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. He was surrounded in love by his wife of 35 years, Rita Cooper, and several family members. Grandson, Michael, was present for Papa’s “going home”; they shared a special bond.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2920 Azle Ave. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Biggers Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to commence at 5 p.m.
Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to the St. Thomas Catholic Church Building Fund, 817-624-2184.
Harold proudly served with the Army in the Korean War. Unfortunately, his wish for “remembrance” was destroyed in the “Fire of 1973.” Dad knew several attempts were made to locate his military service information, but it was never located.
He attended Catholic mass at 4 p.m. every Saturday. He enjoyed attending daily mass and being with the senior members for breakfast, until he fell ill.
Harold is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Cheryl and husband, Don, William, Jackie, Denise and husband, Earnest; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
