To Harry Miller's family, Harry contributed significantly to many programs at General Dynamics and at Lockheed Martin, and I worked with Harry primarily on F-22 EMD. He was a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Drexel University, considered the premier school to specialize in structural design using composite materials. He was a brilliant and practical structural materials design engineer, and we could always count on Harry to chart a straight path in way of materials recommendations and design ideas. And he was a really funny guy! We will definitely miss Harry, and we pray for him and his family at this most difficult time. I would be honored to a part of a later memorial service for Harry.

Harry sent some old photos to me just a few weeks ago. They were from his days in Campbelltown when he and his mother Vivian (my Mother’s sister) were living with Simon and Salome Bachman. Harry and I had a great relationship even though I was a few years older. We visited Aunt Vivian and Harry many times after they moved to a small house in Myerstown. Harry’s wit was dry, his mood positive, and we knew early on that he was more intelligent than he let on. We became distanced by times and circumstances but when we saw one another just a few years ago, it was as though nothing changed. Our heartfelt sympathies to the entire family for this sad and unexpected event. Harry was, in every way a good man who raised an exceptional family. Please know our thoughts are with you. Harry was a mentor, colleague and supervisor at L-M. I valued his advice and especially his sense of right and wrong. The world is a poorer place without Harry in it. I would make every effort to attend a memorial service.

Dear Carol and your beautiful family, on this your birthday that must be so very bittersweet, I delighted in reading this wonderful obituary that brought me to know Harry just a little better after knowing him only just a bit from church. What an awesome and awesomely complex man you had the blessing to share for so many years. I hold all of your family in my heart and prayers at his passing. Much love and many condolences to you all.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

This from Marie, Don Jackson's wife. I only met Harry 2 or three times, but I knew him well! Don and he were cubicle neighbors, and partners on lots of those engineering projects, working together to invent that graphite epoxy resin that now coats the exteriors three or four of those airplanes you mentioned. Don was his traveling partner, also. Don was with him at Heathrow Airport, that day when he fell and reinjured his knee. Britain's socialized medicine left Harry, knee twisted under him, on the floor where he fell for two hours, until they discovered he was American, and they could charge his American insurance company to treat him. Then Harry got royal treatment! They did an AWFUL surgery on his knee which had to be undone by surgeons at home. Harry was a good and decent man, brilliant. Loving his girls, all five. I have many happy memories of him.. Love you for being friend and partner to my Don!

Harry was a curmudgeon's curmudgeon with a desert dry wit, and he so obviously loved my amigo Carol and their daughters. I would be honored to attend his memorial.
