Graveside service: 2:00 pm, Friday, June 5th at Itasca Cemetery in Itasca
Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury

Haviland was born in Hilsboro, Texas on March 26th, 1921 to the late Mary and Jesse Wallace. She graduated from Itasca High School in 1940. She married Howard Barnes on July 11th, 1942 in Hillsboro. Together, they raised two sons on a black land prairie farm west of Itasca, Texas. She worked in the business office of Texas Power and Light Company (TXU) for 37 years. She continued working after her retirement at several dress shops in Hillsboro until age 87. Her family and friends were most important in her life. Haviland was always known to be an independent, gentle soul with a subtle sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Barnes; sister Annette Adams; brothers Jesse Jr., Otis, Glen, and Dale Wallace.
Survivors: sons, Dr. Randall Barnes and wife Sherry of Granbury, Gary Barnes and wife Linda of Willis, TX; Daughter-in-law Sharon Barnes;
Grandchildren: Craig, Kent, Scott, Heston, Dylan, and Amanda;
Great grandchildren: Cade, Brynlee, Colten, Krosby, and Dawson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
