GLEN ROSE — Helen J. Bridewell, 86, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in Glen Rose.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Glen Rose. Burial: White Church Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bridewell was born Apr. 3, 1927, in Dallas, to Jessie and Ora Ellis Jackson. She married Walter Alexander Bridewell, Jr., July 19, 1945, in Dallas. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 57 years where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. Helen worked as a teller for First National Bank for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading and reading her bible. Helen loved and cherished her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jessie and Ora Ellis Jackson, brother, Thad Jackson and sister, Hester Morris.
Survivors: Husband of 68 1/2 years W.A. “Buck” Bridewell, Jr.; children, Gloria Rutherford and husband, Don, of Granbury, Wayne Bridewell and wife, Debbie, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Kevin Rutherford of Longview, Holly and Brad Bailey of Montgomery; great grandchildren, Aryn Bailey and Clay Bailey, both of Montgomery, Victoria Rutherford of Longview.
