Helen Marie (Myers) Carr, 82, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 in a Fort Worth care center.
Service: Noon, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Saginaw United Methodist Church.
Burial: East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Biggers Funeral Home
She was born to Joseph and Helena Myers on September 2, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Helen grew up in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with her sister, Sarah. At 19, she attended a USO dance where she met Ed Carr whom persuaded her to marry him, and move to Texas. Together, they raised three loving sons and were married for 51 years. Helen enjoyed hosting the holidays and birthdays for her family.
As an avid collector, she loved crosses and butterflies. A lifelong member of Saginaw United Methodist Church, she enjoyed the annual Lord’s Acre fundraiser and the Parker County Peach Festival.
Even though Helen never learned to drive, she kept the road “hot”, dining out and shopping with her many close and dear friends whom she treasured, especially her best friend, Linda Allison. Helen left a legacy of kindness generosity and love.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ed Carr, and beloved son, Bill Carr.
Survivors: She is survived by her sons, Joseph Carr and Donald Carr; grandchildren, William Carr, Shawna, and Corlyn Reeves; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous dear friends.
