GRANBURY — Horace F. Griffitts, 78, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, in Granbury.
Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 22, 2015, in Hico Cemetery in Hico, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Horace was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Hamilton County to Frank and Dorothy Cole Griffitts. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Texas Christian University, master’s degree at Texas Tech and his doctorate at Michigan State. He was the Director of Research for Tarrant County Junior College until his retirement. Horace was an avid fan of TCU sports. He loved the theater and had attended productions in New York and London in his many travels. Horace was an advocate for justice and mercy and believed in treating people fairly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
