J. B. Gilliam, 89, of Granbury, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 in Granbury.

J.B. was born June 24, 1928 in Alvarado to John William and Lorena Thetford Gilliam. He married Juanita Wilkerson on January 24, 1958 in Cleburne. He spent two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean situation and retired from Brazos River Authority as a maintenance worker. J.B. was a lifelong peanut farmer and a member of Waples Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys Allison and husband Eldon; son, Tolbert Gilliam; and infant sons, Marvin Ray and Gerry Gilliam.
Survivors: Loving wife of 59 years and 11 months, Nita Gilliam; daughters, Julia Brown and husband Philip, Melany Bramlett and husband Bobby and Lisa Robertson and husband James; son, Robert Gilliam; nine grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Gilliam and wife Barbara; and numerous nieces and nephews.
