J.B. Payne, 82, of Granbury, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 12, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Family to receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 12, 2018, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
J.B. was born on February 17, 1936 in Wichita Falls, Texas to E.F. and Maggie Payne. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and in the United States Marine Corps. He married JoAnne E. Pommerville on October 18, 1974 in San Antonio, Texas. He loved life and God more than anything. He was an active member of Triple Cross Cowboy Church.
J.B. loved to write and sing country music. San Antonio played his records for many years. He also loved to golf with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. F. and Maggie Payne, sons: Michael McPartlin, Danny McPartlin and Jimmy Payne, and grandson: Brandon Clark.
J. B. is survived by his wife of 43 years, JoAnne Payne, sons: Donald McPartlin, and Jeffrey Payne and wife Margaret, daughters: Kim Green and husband Lynn, and Susan Payne, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
