GRANBURY — J. Carl Brown, 82, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, in Glen Rose.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Morton, Texas, to Ralph and May Elliott Brown. He had lived in Granbury since 1986 and was a member of Granbury First United Methodist Church. He owned and operated an insurance company. His hobbies included fishing, traveling and antique cars. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Jean Brown, and sister, Pearl Greenhaw.
Survivors: Wife, Laverne Brown of Granbury; children an spouses, LaTrela and Ronald Petersen of Powder Springs, Ga., J.C. “Butch” and Vickie Brown of White Settlement, Jason and Sherry Fulton of Conroe, Texas; step-son, Gary J. Plumlee of Granbury; grandchildren, Misty Jones, Jason Fulton, Stacey Campbell; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Donald Brown and wife, Doris, of Dallas, Tom Brown of Fort Worth.
