Jaime Negron, 79, retired United States Air Force chief master sergeant, left this world Tuesday, November 25, 2014, to spend eternity with our Lord Jesus.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 22, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in White Settlement. Committal with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Mr. Negron was born on October 25, 1935, in Barrio Hoa, Santurce, Puerto Rico, and was raised in Mid-Town New York City. He served honorably in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1986 as chief master sergeant having served the maximum time of service allowed by Air Force policy. It is important to note that it was during his initial assignment to Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico, that he married the love of his life, Sylvia Solorio.
After retirement, Chief Negron, who was known to many as Jaime, transitioned to industry and worked for General Dynamics and later Lockheed Martin on the F-16 Fighting Falcon production line as a quality control inspector.
In 1996, Jaime started volunteering for the Fort Worth Police Department’s Code:Blue program and eventually became a Code:Blue captain for the Citizens on Patrol (COP) Boat Club group. In 2013 Jaime was selected as the 2013 North Division’s Citizen of Patrol Patroller of the Year. Code:Blue remained his passion until the very end.
Jaime Negron was a great, loving and caring Dad, Papi, Chief, Grandpa, Abuelo, Tio and Coach. He will be missed, but we will all see him again.
He is survived by the love of his life for 56 years and our mom, Sylvia; his daughter, Lydia Negron; son, Steven Negron and wife, Terry; grandsons, James Burgdoerfer and wife, Allison, Michael Burgdoerfer, Steven Negron Jr. and Jaime Negron; the only granddaughter, Kathleen Negron; and his only great-grandchild, Evan Burgdoerfer.
