Jake Darlan Kinnard, 74, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017. Service: 2 PM, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, First United Methodist Church, Granbury. Interment: Nubbin Ridge Cemetery, Granbury, Visitation: 6-8 PM, Monday, September 4, 2017, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Jake was a devout Christian and member of First United Methodist Church, Granbury. He was generous, kind and non-judgmental. Jake had a huge heart and never met a stranger. He was positive and never complained, always sought the best for everyone.
Jake received his master’s degree from Texas A&M and was a proud Aggie. He loved teaching, from his former students to strangers on the street. He loved to count his cattle both morning and night. Jake was a legend in the community and active in politics. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Ruth Kinnard.
Jake was survived by his sons, J. Brandon Kinnard and wife Alicia; and Charles Kennedy; daughter, Jana Suzanne Kinnard; grandchildren, Caleb Kinnard, Evan Kinnard and Ariana Kinnard; brothers, Darrell Kinnard and wife Jennie and Roy Kinnard and wife Billie; sisters, Sharron Sadler and Sandra Rogers and husband Floyd; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
