James was born on October 18, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to Henry and Julia Ditmore. He loved the stock market. He enjoyed cooking ribs for his dog. He was a very giving man and loved his family and neighbors. He was a world traveler, who travelled from the Far East to the Middle East to the Pacific. James was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Julia Ditmore, and his sister: Peggy Hoover.
James is survived by son: John Ditmore and wife Isabel, grandsons: Collin Ditmore, and Ben Ditmore, and brother: Kenneth Ditmore and wife Vivia.

Uncle Jim, as we knew him, would come and stay at our house when he came to Lubbock to see his Sister Peg. He was always the perfect house guest and gentlemen! We loved listening to his stories of all his worldly travels! One trip he played with our new kitten Tippy Toe. He must have played and laughed for an hour! Such a kind hearted man! Uncle Jim you will be missed!
