Janis was one of four children, born on Sept. 22, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to the late R.F. and Jewell Murphy Spraberry. She was a counselor and high school English teacher for 34 years at Haltom High School in Haltom City, Texas. Janis was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kendall Clark; brother, Richard Spraberry; and sister, Mona Beckham.
Survivors: Her husband, Ed Cromwell; daughters, Tiffany Clark and Kelly Rene Nichols and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Casen Clark, Kaden Clark, Bailey Nichols, Madison Nichols and Alexandria Nichols; sister, Gay Crawford; and sister-in-law, Carleen Aaron.
