Jaswinder “Jesse” Singh, 60, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016, while visiting family members in India.
A celebration of Jesse’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, at Biggers Funeral Home. Rev. Carol Record will officiate.

Jesse was a resident of Fort Worth since 1991. He was born September 10, 1955, to Inder Kaur and Santa Singh in Bathinda, India. Jesse received a B.A. degree in economics from Punjabi University. He was a licensed airplane pilot and received his license in India as well as the United States.
Jesse became a naturalized citizen of the United States and carried with him a deep love for both his native India and for the privilege to be a part of this country. Jesse managed various convenience stores and became the driving force in establishing and operating the Hop In Market and Longhorn Liquor on Azle Avenue in Lake Worth, where he was totally dedicated to serving his customers. In December of 2013 he sold these stores. After taking a brief break from work, he moved on to Celtic Liquor where he was currently. He was a member of the NW Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce.
Jesse lived his life with high spiritual standards and was a lifelong member of the Sikh community with a deep respect for his religion and for the religions of others. Anyone who knew him well, personally or professionally, benefited from his infectious smile and could see his passion and dedication to being of service to others. He was truly a humble man with high moral standards and integrity who believed deeply in the value of hard work.
Left behind to cherish the memories of Jesse are his wife, Kay Riley; his daughter, Manpinder Kaur; her mother, Surinder Kaur; his sister, Harbhajan Kaur and her husband, Baj Singh; stepson, Michael Lackey and his wife, Lyn; brother-in-law, William Todd and his wife, Patsy; nieces and nephews, Billy and Randy Todd, Harjinder Pal Singh; and other relatives and friends who loved him.
