Jimmy Allen McDowell, age 77, of Granbury, Texas passed away on Tuesday December 25, 2018. Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 9, 2019, Martin’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Jimmy was born on November 18, 1941 in Oak Cliff, Texas to Marie and Homer McDowell. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jimmy loved golfing, fishing and hunting. He was a skilled carpenter and was known as the handyman of the neighborhood.

He was employed at Eastern Airlines for 30 years and later retired from Tarrant County College Northeast as the Technical Director of Theater. He was an active member of Church on Thistle Ridge. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents: Homer Allen McDowell and Lily Marie (Fuller) McDowell and son: Tracy Allen McDowell.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife: Rosemary (Burkhart) McDowell of Granbury; daughter: Robin Philliber of Nacogdoches; son: Jeremy Tarter and wife Angela of New Mexico; grandchildren: Ragan Philliber of Nacogdoches, Taylor Smith of Hurst, Jaycee Tarter of New Mexico; siblings: Carol Inscoe of Kansas, Rita and Mark Wade of Oak Cliff, Norman McDowell of Euless; sister-in-law: Dianne McDowell of Hurst; and his nieces and nephews and their extended families.
