Joann Elizabeth Cheeves Christensen

Joann Elizabeth Cheeves Christensen, 89, passed away on Thursday; December 24, 2020 in Glen Rose.

An only child, Joann was born August 14, 1931 in Dallas, Texas to Virgil and Lily Durham Cheeves. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and she retired after 47 years from working for Southwestern Bell/AT & T in the accounting department as a Payroll Processor. Joann was a self-taught musician playing the accordion and the piano which she learned how to play by ear. Joann was a very loving wife and mother as well as to all of her family and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert Burleson Christensen on December 10, 2020 and by her daughter, Linda Christensen on December 17, 2020.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Christensen and wife Ann; two daughters, Pam Aldriedge and husband Sam and Gretchen Carvajal and husband Charlie; six grandchildren, Skip Aldriedge, David Christensen, Erika Romada, Jaclyn Disher, Morgan Christensen and Christian Carvajal; eight great-grandchildren; a number of cousins, extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be from 5pm. to 7pm.  Sunday; January 3, 2021 at Martins Funeral Home in Granbury.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM. Monday; January 4, 2021 at Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow, Texas with Dr. Mark Forrest and her son, Geoffrey (Jeff) Christensen officiating under the direction of Martins Funeral Home of Granbury.

A Memorial Service for Joann, her husband Albert (Al) and their daughter Linda will be held and announced at a later date.
