FORT WORTH — Joanne Cox Palmer, 78, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: Post Oak Cemetery in Somervell County.
Joanne was born Mar. 20, 1936, in Hill City, Texas, to David Walter Cox and Thonetta Strand Cox. She married Raymond Lavoy Palmer, Sept. 3, 1959, in Yellville, Ark. She went to Whitney schools and to Tarrant County Jr. College. She was a member of Ridgley West Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Joanne had been a member of the American Business Women’s Association since 1981, where she served as executive director for two terms and was named Woman of the Year in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and five brothers.
Survivors: Children, Rebecca Bellino of Fort Worth, Richard Palmer of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Raymond Palmer of Texarkana, Texas, Michael Palmer of Iowa, Julie Gwaltney and husband, Tim, of Memphis, Tenn., Jennifer Casler and husband, Garrett, of Plano, Karsten Palmer of Fort Worth; five great grandchildren.
