John was born March 15, 1950 in Ft Worth, TX. He attended school at Trimble Tech in Fort Worth. He joined the Army in 1970 and served until 1977. During that time one of his jobs was driving a truck. He carried on with that job after he left the service. He hauled mail then went to cross country driving. The last 13 years he drove with his wife, Teresa. They went to 49 states and most of Canada. During that time he found time to build a house and write a blog. His blog expressed some of his sense of humor. He could make you laugh reading about cancer. John is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughter Ursula Welch, son Ted Patton and wife Jill, son Wes Edwards, son Thomas Patton and wife Rhonda, seven grandchildren; brother Michael Patton and wife Kathy, sister Mischa Brantley and many in-laws.
