Memorial Service

John Dalton Rogers, 81, passed away on Sunday; March 14, 2021 in Granbury.

 

He was born April 27, 1939 in Fort Worth, Texas to John L. and Blanche Rogers.

 

John loved to watch and collect all kinds of movies. He loved to laugh, tell stories and joke. He was one of the greatest storytellers ever. John was a retired Firefighter with the Fort Worth Fire Department after 28 dedicated years of service, and he was a member of the Acton Baptist Church.

 

John was preceded in death by his parents, son, Randy Rogers and two brothers, Alfred Rogers and Will Rogers.

 

He is survived by his wife of (37) years, Cindy Rogers; sons, Gary Rogers and Johnny Rogers; step-son, Aaron Huckaby and his wife Bonnie; grandchildren, Jessica, Bo, Brittany, Josh, Allison, Brandi, Shara, Lauren and Preston; a number of great-grandchildren; nephew, Jim Rogers; nieces, Mimi Rogers, Dede Tenorio and Dawn Rogers and numerous cousins.

 

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm. Thursday; March 18, 2021 at Acton Baptist Church with visitation prior to the service from 1:00pm. to 2:00pm. at the church. Dr. Mark Roath and Fort Worth Fire Department Chaplain Cliff Spain will be officiating.

As an employee of Owen Oil Tool for years, John Roger's work ethic and sense of humor was and will continue to be a daily highlight for all of us. John made it clear how organized/OCD he was and proud of it too. He shared with me about how he was responsible for the Coffee Service at Acton Baptist. John was as hard a worker as anyone here and ran circles around many each day. Heaven will be chuckling more now and any possible mess with be straightened up by our beloved John Rogers.
