John Douglas Laver

August 12, 1956 - September 1, 2013

John Douglas Laver, 57, a longtime resident of Azle, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Biggers Funeral Chapel. Committal will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at DeWitt Cemetery near Humboldt, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials in John’s name be made to the Western Star Cowboy Church 790 C.R. 3693, Paradise, TX 76073 to help build their long awaited arena.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Verna and Merle E. Laver, Sr. of Humboldt Kansas.

John was a caring and loving man that will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years Linda; his two children, Christopher Laver of Newark, New Jersey, Randy and Felicia Laver of Azle; three brothers and two sisters, Fritz Laver of Chanute, Kansas, Randy and Laura Laver of Wichita, Kansas, Jeff Laver of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Darla and Tony Sanchez of Humboldt, Jennifer McConnell of Chanute, Kansas; and his four beautiful grandchildren, Caliandra, Danny, Gabriel, and Laylah.
