John Vick Perdue, 83, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.
Graveside service: 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
John was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Fort Worth to John Vick and Virginia Perdue. He was a machinist by trade and loved fixing things. Before his retirement he served 23 years in the 301st Tactical Fighter Wing at Carswell AFB.
John was a loving husband and father who was active in youth sports as well as his own time to play. He was always ready to help someone and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Cryer, and a son, David Perdue.
Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Mary; son, Gary Perdue of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Marty Cryer of Fort Worth, Aaron Perdue of Nacogdoches and Jenna Lewis of Midland; great-grandchild, Juddson Lewis of Midland; sister, Aline Blacklock of Mansfield; a host of other relatives; and many friends.
