Johnnie L. Conway Jr.

September 19, 1953 - August 19, 2014

Johnnie L. Conway Jr. 60, a loving husband, father, son, brother, pastor and friend, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hilltop Family Church, 1227 Old Cottondale Rd., Springtown. Interment will be in Springtown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hilltop Family Church.

Johnnie was born September 19, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas, to Johnnie L. and Ruth Jean Conway. He moved to this area when he was 20 and worked for Holt Hickman at Frostemp. He later worked as vice president of marketing for John Clardy at Clardy Manufacturing.

He received his call to pastor and in 1991 started Hilltop Family Church in Springtown. Johnnie was a beloved pastor to all people, not just to Hilltop Family Church, but to the community of Springtown and the surrounding areas. He had a heart and personality as big as Texas and went out of his way to assist anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Tammi S. Rico of Wichita, Kansas; and a stepfather, Johnny Ray Smith of Springtown.

Johnnie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy Conway of Springtown; children, Brandon Conway and wife, Sha, and Jennifer Conway of Springtown; mother, Jean Baldwin of Springtown; father, Johnnie L. Conway Sr. and wife, Estelle, of Joplin, Missouri; brothers, Terry Conway of Wichita, Kansas, Jackie Conway of Fort Worth, and Johnny Ray Smith II of Wichita, Kansas; and grandchildren, Summer and Kallie Conway of Springtown.
