Joe was born May 22, 1935 in Waco, TX to Joe and Clara Looney Morgan. He graduated from Waco High School in 1953 and The University of Texas in 1957 with a double Bachelor of Science Degrees in Physics and Mathematics. His long and distinguished career as an Aerospace Test Engineer began at Convair / Fort Worth; Chrysler Corporation; Chief of Test Programs at NASA; Sr. Test Engineer on the Skylab Program at McDonald-Douglas; Director of NASA Biomedical Applications Team on Astronaut Recovery at Sea at Martin-Marietta. He was also involved in the NASA space shuttle launch program at Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral where he was named Employee of the Year in 1972. He retired in May 0f 2000 from LTV Missiles and Electronics (now Lockheed-Martin) as Manager of MLRS Test Operations.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, Dr. Robert Morgan and Dr. Clifford Morgan.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sharon Seay Morgan; daughter, Sarah Morgan Monday and husband Glenn Monday III; grandchildren, Daniel and Minea; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
