Joy Meyer, life-long resident of Hood County, died February 18, 2018. She died peacefully in her sleep after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s.
Joy showed kindness and compassion to all she met and was willing to share anything she had. She graduated from high school in Granbury and then became a LVN. She later went back to school and graduated from TCU as a RN.
Joy was very talented; needle point, crocheting, knitting, cooking and reading were just a few of her projects. After retirement, Joy spent her days in the yard and loved her plants. Her cats will truly miss her.
Joy has one surviving brother, Billy Umphrees and wife Patsy, one daughter, Sherri Barnes, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. We all will miss you. God has you in his hands now, no more pain and suffering.
She thoughtfully gave her body for research. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury.
