Joye Loyd

Granbury — Joye Loyd, 91, of Granbury passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 10, 2016. She will rest for eternity with her husband, Wortham, and son, Russell in May, TX.
Joye was born on July 13, 1925 in Eastland, TX to Louis and Minnie Pitzer. Joye married Wortham Loyd on February 7, 1947 in Throckmorton, TX. They were married for 62 years. She attended Hardin Simmons and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught business in Throckmorton and later in Snyder, TX in special education.
Joye devoted her life and talents to special needs children of Scurry County. She was a wonderful mother to her three children. She loved to sing in the choir, play bridge and dominoes, grow a garden, swim, and travel. She will be missed by many.
Survivors: Leslie Lee and husband Roy of Granbury, TX: Louis Loyd and wife Karen of Bay City, TX.: 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Joye was preceded in death by her husband, Wortham, eldest son, Russell, and grandson, Bryan.
