Judy Ann Estes

Judy Ann Estes, 72 of Fort Worth, TX gained her Angel wings on August 27, 2021.

Service: There will be a Celebration of Life at 12 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Deer Cove Event Venue, 101 S Pearson, Azle, TX 76020.

Judy, affectionately known by many names, Mom, Mama, Madge, Herc and MeMe, was the fabric that held everyone and everything together.

Judy was born February 26, 1949 in Fort Worth.

Judy was a member of the NRA, Daughters of the Revolution DAR, the best cook who walked the earth, a poker/ card player to make you weep and the BEST Mom, Mama, Madge, Wife, Mimi known to man.

Judy met a young Northside man by the name of Harland Estes in July of 1965 and later married him the same year on November 1^st.   They would have celebrated 56 years of marriage this year. Judy was a devoted wife who supported Harland through his deployment as a US Marine to Vietnam, and would talk fiercely about patriotism and Harland’s time in the DMZ.  She never passed a veteran that she did not acknowledge by thanking them for their service to our country.

Judy was active in sports in her younger years and through her young adult life.  She was a fierce 3^rd baseman who presented a formidable adversary to opponents, especially with her three children, heckling with support from the 3^rd base line.  Judy’s love of sports transferred to her children.  She never missed a football game, swim meet, softball/ baseball game or track meet that they were participants in.  Judy and Harland supported Amy as a coach, attending track meets, swim meets and other school functions.  Bradley, an avid fisherman, could expect to see her at weigh-in crossing her fingers that he had the biggest catch.  Judy loved baseball, and had an uncanny amount of baseball knowledge ready for discussion at any time.  During the 1977 World Series between the Yankees and the Dodgers, Judy would get Lisa, then in 4^th grade, out of school early so she could watch the game with her and teach Lisa how to keep stats in her little book.  Judy and Lisa won the baseball lottery together when they were able to get 2011 World Series tickets to watch the Texas Rangers.

Judy was the epitome of a FIGHTER.  She survived stage IV breast cancer in 1997 and it was often heard by the medical professionals in Plano say they didn’t know how she survived what she had been through.  Judy survived on FAITH, HOPE and LOVE and sheer determination.  The family would like to thank the medical professionals at Medical City Plano Burn ICU, Emergency room staff at Texas Health Azle and Liz with Klarus Home Health.

Survivors:   She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Harland Estes; daughters, Lisa Estes, Amy Estes; son, Bradley Estes and his wife, Emily; her pride and joy, granddaughter, Lilly Ann Estes; best friend, Wes Hannie; her sister, Brenda Voss; niece, Kristi Hall; nephew, Clint Voss;  nieces and nephews;  other survivors include grandchildren, Ty Parker and his wife, Darah, Rachelle Parker and Johnathan Carmane; two great-grandchildren.
