Julia “Judy” Stone passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Service: 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, Acton Baptist Church, Interment: Acton Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in Judy’s honor to DCBE/Acton Volunteer Fire Department, Acton Baptist Church, Brazos Pregnancy Center, Paluxy Baptist Association or to the charity of your preference.
Judy was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas and graduated from Wichita Falls High School. She was fiercely independent, and she liked to be in charge of herself.
Judy had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved very much by her family. She loved making memories with them and enjoyed birthday gatherings and taking trips with them.
Judy was a lifelong Baptist; she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at 10 years old. She was an active member of Acton Baptist Church since 1978. She loved her Sunday School class, and she studied the Bible and fellowshipped with her D-Group. She served on Women on Mission, GA’s, Acteens, Women’s Ministry Team, Church Clerk, and the Counting Team.
Judy worked for many years as a bookkeeper for many accountants and businesses. She was still working. She was also a volunteer bookkeeper at Brazos Pregnancy Center for many years.
Judy loved playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack, and Wanda Fancher.
Judy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Stone, daughter: Sharay Boynton and her husband Stephen, daughter: Nicole Smith Woodard and her husband David, son: Donnie Stone and his fiancée Stephanie McClaran, grandchildren: Stone Boynton, Slade Boynton, Courtney Buck and her husband Dillon, Jacob Smith, Libby Stone, Maddie Stone and her fiancé Cooper Moorman, Jack Stone, Daniel Woodard and his wife Bailey, Mark Woodard, Gracie McClaran, Caleb McClaran, sister: Anita Fitts and brother: Dale Fancher and his wife Helen.
She will be missed by many.
