Kaedron Lee Prestage

Kaedron “Lee” Prestage, devoted husband, compassionate, humorous, dependable father and grandfather, left his earthly body and started his journey to Heaven on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. He was surrounding by those that loved him most at the time of his death.

Funeral service: 3 p.m. Saturday in Biggers Funeral Chapel

Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home

Lee was born and raised in Decatur, Texas. He also lived in Boyd and Fort Worth, Texas.  He found his permanent residence in Azle, Texas where he lived with his family for over 55 years.

Lee had a passion for knowledge. His career journey allowed him to use that knowledge to help others.  Lee started in the construction business, where he helped his dad run the family business. In 1958 he went to work with KRLD News, where he was an “On the Scene Reporter”.  Lee then decided to pursue his college degree at Texas Wesleyan College in 1965.  While in college, he met the love of his life, Rita Garcia Prestage.  They moved to Azle, in 1966 and started their family.  Lee was working for Fleet Pharmaceuticals at this time.  In 1973 he transitioned to Allstate Insurance, serving the Fort Worth area.  In 1989 Lee opened a branch for Miracle Ear, as an audiologist, serving Fort Worth area, once again.  In 1997, Lee graduated from Tarrant County College, receiving his RN degree.  His love of learning and desire to help others remained his top priority.  He was employed by Texas Health Fort Worth, Community Hospice, Campbell Health System and then ended his career with VITAS Healthcare.  He touched many patients lives until he retired in 2010.  Lee’s hobbies throughout his life, besides being with family, were flying the Piper Cub, holding his private pilot license and sailing sailboats on Eagle Mountain Lake.  He was loved by his family and friends.  His work ethic, ability to talk about any topic with much knowledge, dry sense of humor, and his ability to relate to “real life” situations made him a treasured person to so many.  “Popsie” you are going to be greatly missed, but we all know you will always be with us, and we will see you again.

Survivors: Wife, Rita Prestage; daughters, Alisa Prestage Johnson and Teresa Prestage Clark and husband, David; grandchildren, Kalin Clark, Garrett Clark, Grant Johnson and Bailee Johnson; sister, Antha Denby DeSabato; brother, Charles Prestage; and numerous other family members and friends.

The Prestage Family would like to thank all their family and friends during this time. Also, a very special thank you to the staff at Texas Health Fort Worth Hospital that delivered compassionate care to Lee and his family.
